Hine Rare VSOP Bottling Note

Hine Rare VSOP Cognac is crafted using a blend of eaux-de-vie from the Grande and Petite Champagne regions. Around 20 different eaux-de-vie make their way into this expression, resulting in a flavour profile that boasts waves of floral breeze, fresh fruit and warming woody spices. A stunning Cognac that was first blended by the eponymous Thomas Hine many moons ago...

Hine Rare VSOP Cognac Reviews

Too florid for me

I mean I shouldn’t complain; it quite clearly says hints of violet and jasmine, but it really detracts and distracts me from the palate. Not for me.

Right now I’m enjoying drinking Carlos I imperial XO far more.

TOP CLASS

I HAVE BEEN DRINKING HINE COGNACS EXCLUSIVELY SINCE 1980 WHEN I COULD AFFORD THEIR EARLY LANDED LATE BOTTLED WHICH WAS ABSOLUTELY SUPERB. NOW I'M RETIRED I STICK WITH HINE BUT AT A LESS EXPENSIVE LEVEL. IT IS STILL THE BEST COGNAC.

Hat Trick Vsops

This may not be the most expensive, but it holds its own against other vsops.A joy to drink. My hat trick of vsops is Hine Rare,Frapin and Remy Martin 1738 Royal. All different in there own way,but tasty treats

Put it on your cognac bucket list.

Since my first bottle of Hine Rare,I have tried Courvoisier, Frapin, Hennessy, Maxime Trijol, amongst others. This VSOP is without doubt, the most user friendly cognac I have drank. No hit of alcohol on the first sip, plenty of flavour, enougth oil to hang in your throat momentarily, and NO watery finish. Not over priced. At last I have found my perfect VSOP.Plenty if more expensive VSOPs to choose, but who wants to pay for after burners.

If you like the H,you will love the rare.

Tried the Hine H,which for the money,is really a decent drink.Just purchased the Hine Rare from here, which I found being a little more oily, left the flavour on the finish lingering, and very pleasant it was.So ,to day, this is my first choice VSOP.

It's ok.

Nice but reminds me too much of a 'mild' unpeated scotch. For £41.30 I'll get the cheaper scotch!

When will you be getting some in?

I love it I think that it is the best Cognac

Harsh with watery finish

I can't say it's good. Frapin VSOP and Claude Chatelier XO Extra Old are good examples of reasonable priced, smooth cognac. Hine rare is not near as good as those two. Hine is quite harsh and has watery finish.
