Hermitage are the folks to thank for this extraordinary 60 year old Cognac. The independent bottlers sourced it from one of the region's finest artisan producers, who crafted the Cognac from Ugni Blanc grapes cultivated from chalky Grande Champagne soil and double distilled it in a 25-hectolitre still. It was then matured for an astonishing 60 years in Limousin oak casks before it was bottled it a hand-blown, hand-cut decanter produced by UK specialists Cumbria Crystal.
The expression is named the Marie Louise after the second wife of Napoleon Bonaparte and the mother of Napoleon II.
