Hermitage 1990 Grande Champagne Cognac (47%)
An incredibly well balanced Cognac with heaps of complexity and a silky texture to encourage you back in for more. Made with Ugni Blanc grapes an distilled in a small 12 hl still so that the resulting Cognac is full flavoured before being boosted further by being aged in 250 litre casks – six months in new oak and then old oak barrels. Using the traditional on lees method, the casks help to develop subtle vanilla and spiced fruit notes with a texture that is smooth and long.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Toasted tea cake aromas with lifts of Nutmeg, ginger and spiced fruit.
Palate
Coffee, sweet jam and nuts along with hints of cloves and orchard fruit flavours circling for attention. Layers of citrus and walnuts along with a mouth feel that is satin-like and luxurious.
Finish
Long, smooth and expressive.
