This Cognac Hors d’Age from the Decadent Drams range was created from a marriage of Petite and Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie made in the heartlands of Fine Champagne Cognac. The age range is impressive: the youngest spirits are from the late 1980s, and the oldest go back to the early 1960s, with some fun stuff from the intervening period. It was bottled at the marrying strength, a nice sprightly 47.8% ABV.

Lushly expressive: honeyed and floral, with layers of orchard fruit, tobacco leaf, and polished old wood. The rancio shows its hand gracefully, lending depth and savoury intrigue without overshadowing the brightness of fruit and blossom.
On the palate, honeys and dried fruits lead into subtle tones of wormwood, dried citrus peel, cedar, and cigar box spice.
The finish is long, elegant, and quietly indulgent, unfolding with notes of bitter chocolate, old wood, and lingering rancio warmth.
