This snazzy bottle of brandy is courtesy of Seven Tails, and the expression blends together Cognac, Armagnac and a mysterious French brandy from an undisclosed location. The blend is then rested and married in Port casks which imparts even more fruitiness to the spirit. The folks behind the brand crafted the brandy to be used and experimented with in fun cocktails. We reckon it would make a cool twist on an Espresso Martini.
Toasted and slightly burnt fruitcake, with oily walnut, peppery oak, ground almond and a hint of savoury umami, with lingering Black Forest gateaux.
this is a very flavoursome brandy at a very reasonable price
Go to brandy for mixing in simple drinks and have tried it in some whisky and rum cocktails too, works well and adds depth. Packaging is brilliant and friends have commented on how good it looks. Would buy it again as its versatile and a bottle doesn't last long. XO for £35 is a steal.
Ordered a bottle a couple of weeks ago to help ease the troubles of lockdown ... Should have gone a case ! Deliciously smooth and balanced flavour . I have really enjoyed mixing at home and twisting some favourite classics , the Espresso martini and French 75. Brilliantly versatile and works just as well simple over Ice.
starting to hear a buzz in the SE. I tried in FL neat and as part of an Old Fashioned on a blind tasting. Definitely a versatile spirit that could really change perceptions regarding the use of brandy in specialty cocktails. Pricing is also reasonable with this premium packaging and blending.
I tried Seven Tails XO for the first time at the Beaufort Bar at the Savoy. Neat was impressive, and outstanding in a Sidecar. Pound-for-pound a great brandy, highly recommended.
