I was given this as a 60th birthday gift and woke up on the bathroom floor many hours later. A sublime drink but not to be abused.

Sublime but subtle, floral and herb flavours definitely dominate. I enjoy a good VSOP or XO but this is unlike anything I've ever tried. I would love to taste this in a Xmas pudding!I'm disappointed that the maximum score I can give it is 5 stars - it deserves 12.ABV 40%.

Quite simply outstanding.Warm fruity flavours invite you to drink far more of this spirit than is good for you.Heavy on the raisins and a slight honey finish, this drink is a must for any discerning drinker.

Been buying Metaxa 5, 7, 12 star, and private reserve, now for 10+ years.I no longer bother with Brandy/Cognac as Metaxa is far superior.
