This is quite an item! A VSOP Brandy from the 1970s would be something to take note of regardless, but this is a Grand Empereur bottling.
The classification was born in the aftermath of the phylloxera virus of the 1870s which ravaged vineyards, leaving brandy distillers with a choice: distill very young wine grown after the epidemic; or use old wine from before the outbreak called 'Grand eau-de-vie' from the time of Emperor Napoleon III - hence Grand Empereur was born.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
