Tomintoul 25 Year Old

This 25 year old Tomintoul single malt Scotch whisky was introduced to the distillery's range in the first half of 2015. An exciting release for Tomintoul, a distillery which has resided in Speyside since 1964 and has gained a reputation for producing laid-back, mellow whiskies - hence their tagline as 'The Gentle Dram'.

Reviews for Tomintoul 25 Year Old
Addictive, flavorful, once tasted never forgotten
Tomintoul 25 is actually really good. It has much greater depth and complexity than the likes of Glenlivet, and Cardhu, without the pretentiousness of Macallan (which is far too overrated in my opinion.) I would buy it again. I’m excited for other people to try it. It has kind of a slightly spicy butterscotch aftertaste that makes you want to keep going back for a little more….which could be dangerous in the wrong hands! 🤣😉 Lol

My son gifted me this. Truly it is a wonderful experience to taste such perfection in a glass.

Not educated enough to speak on this; just know I really enjoy the smooth unfolding of flavors and textures, not overly complex...just delicious.
I thought I didn't care that much for scotch. A friend brought a sampler pack of 10, 16 & 25 year. This Tomintoul 25 year rings my bells...must find large bottle.

The best I've ever tasted
I'm a newbie, but I'm helped by my expert friends and know and try to follow their advices.

So I've discovered the Tomintoul 25 yo after the 16. They say the use the purest water from the highest place in the Highlands (though in Speyside). And That makes the difference. I am not experienced enough to understand the complexity of every notes, but compare to the Glenfarclas 25, it is far better. This whisky is so smooth that every whisky lover should taste once. The smoothness is incredible on every tasting step and the creamy notes from the nose to the finish.

One last note : this whisky is matured in old American bourbon oak cask so it gives notes of vanilla.
