Na Bràithrean
Scotland
Single Malt
A terrific 12 year old single malt, distilled at Tobermory in May 2009 for its peated Ledaig range. This expression spent its first 11 years resting in a bourbon hogshead, before being transferred to finish for a final year in a port quarter cask. In August 2021, the gang at indie bottler Na Bràithrean cracked open the cask to release a total outturn of 152 bottles.
Mild malt and slightly vegetal peat lead the way for chocolate raisins, a touch of honey, and distant salinity.
Dark cherry chocolate and soaked berries gather alongside rich spices, bold, fruity oak and drying, peppery peat smoke.
Caramel with a touch of salt, more cherries, bold barley, anise and clove.
