The folks at indie bottler Halcyon Spirits got their hands on a rather impressive single malt here! It's a 30-year-old Macallan, distilled in 1993 and matured in a first-fill sherry cask, yielding a total of 238 cask-strength bottles when it was opened in 2023.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Rich dried fruits, orange zest marmalade with treacle and vanilla toffee sweetness.
Palate
Spices of cloves, ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon accompanied by sweet treacle, vanilla toffee and fudge.
Finish
A long, lingering finish - beautifully moreish. Mature oak spices with dried fruits and a late fresh orange marmalade finish.
