That Boutique-y Whisky Company keeps us guessing as to the origin of this rather splendid Speysider. They've given us a couple of good clues though. Firstly, it hails from one of the two largest malt distilleries in the world following a recent expansion... and secondly, the distillery's name was historically used as a suffix to the names of a large number of other distilleries, marking a sign of quality. Now who's got the latest copy of the Malt Whisky Yearbook handy? The whisky was laid down in 1998 and matured for a total of 26 years before its release in nice big 700ml bottles to join Boutique-y's Label Editions.
A release of 201 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends, all adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels. The brand won Spirits Bottler of the Year at the 2023 Spirits Business Awards, and Blender of the Year went to Sam Simmons, captain of the Boutique-y clan who oversees every one of these releases.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose Vibrant layers of juicy barley and vanilla join crisp apples and honeyed tropical fruits. Orchard blossom and a touch of lemongrass join in time.
Palate Rich and creamy, with layers of vanilla custard, honey, and lemon posset. Poached apples bring balance to layers of peppery warmth and drying oak.
Finish Woody spices linger, with peppercorns, ginger, and oaken vanilla.
