Nose: Apple wood on a charcoal fire brings a herbal, sweet smokiness through which strawberry, rhubarb and citric brightness emerge. Floral honey, fluffy Scotch pancakes and a little dark fruit emerge.
Palate: More bittersweet charred woodsmoke, lemon peel and dried pineapple initially, with sweet tobacco and green grapes developing.
Finish: Dry, smoky and lingering.
Overall: Islay by name, Islay by nature.
