Behold, batch four of Islay #1 from That Boutique-y Whisky Company! Once again, they've bottled up a mysterious whisky from the legendary Isle of Islay, and this time it's a 10 year old expression. The coal miners on the label are getting close to digging up that giant bulb of garlic, which I'm sure they will be happy about. Garlic is delicious.
Batch 4 is a release of 2,102 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose Apple wood on a charcoal fire brings a herbal, sweet smokiness through which strawberry, rhubarb and citric brightness emerge. Floral honey, fluffy Scotch pancakes and a little dark fruit emerge.
Palate More bittersweet charred woodsmoke, lemon peel and dried pineapple initially, with sweet tobacco and green grapes developing.
Finish Dry, smoky and lingering.
