Spirit of Hven Phecda Bottling Note

The third release from Spirits of Hven's Seven Stars range is the Phecda single malt whisky, which has been matured in a combination of American and French oak casks, then bottled without chill-filtration or additional colours. A cracking organic single malt from the fantastic Hven distillery on the tiny Swedish island from which the distillery gets its name.

Following on from Dubhe and Merak (the previous expressions in the Seven Stars series), the Phecda has been named after a shining star in the Ursa Major (or The Plough) constellation.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Opens with buttery brioche dipped in dark coffee, with touches of dried apricot in the mix. Leave it for a minute and it develops bold notes of bacon and wood smoke.

Palate: Werther's Original and sticky cinnamon rolls, with a core of juicy, honey'd barley. Oily on the mid-palate with peppery touches.

Finish: Subtle smoky, salty air lasts on the finish.
