Overly woody, weird and not very pleasant to say the least! An odd choice and one that does not match the high quality of the Berry Brothers bottlings!

A VERY woody/spicy, sappy, dryish and leathery style of Whisky that does not really taste like Whisky! It has something of an old over-aged rum that got so much overextraction from the wood, or of some of those extremely old mid 1960's Speyside's Finest (Glenfarclas) Whiskies that Douglas Laing tend to bottle occasionally. Basically, these are examples of Whiskies that are for the thermites to enjoy rather than for the educated Whisky drinkers. Water does not even do anything to save it. I just couldn't finish the small measure that I kindly got poured. I had to throw it away!... And at over £70, ouch! It hurts!... Unusual, considering the consistency and quality of the Berry Brothers bottlings! S.
