An interesting release from the Speyside Distillery in the Speyside region for the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival 2017 - a single cask 9 year old single malt distilled in December 2007 using peated malt and bottled in April 2017! Most SPEY single malts you'll find are unpeated, so this is a rare chance to try some of their peated malts. Only 300 bottles were produced.
Elegant smoke, with a touch of TCP to it. Creamy honey'd barley notes develop in the background.
White chocolate, struck match with a whiff of smoke hanging around, a few hints of summer berries dotted around.
Lingering smoked barley.
