Superb single malt from a secret Speyside distillery. As you might have guessed from the name, Olorosum is a splendidly sherried affair. The 10-year-old single malt was treated to an extremely generous finish in oloroso sherry casks before being bottled up without added colour or chill filtration at a hearty 54.7% ABV. With a smartly waxed top (how did they make it slanted like that?!) and a black and gold label that gives off some rather suave Art Deco vibes, it looks as stunning as it tastes.
Superbly sherried, with burnt sugar, golden syrup, and milk chocolate. Candied pecans and festive chocolate liqueurs follow while drying old oak nestles in the depths.
Big and bold with vanilla fudge and boozy dried fruits opening the way for sweet, nutty malt. Chocolate raisins and Brazil nuts follow, with notes of wood polish and brandy snaps.
A dense finish, with drying oak and aged fruit cake, toasted spices, and minced pies.

Sherry Bomb, wonderful Dark Fruits, chocolate, a bit of sherry funk be careful of the alcohol smack but truly lovely with a Christmas cake vibe going on in there, almonds, honey and cookies with an out lying malted barley. If you can’t tell I have really enjoyed this with its wonderful rich mouth feel, it delivers everything you get on the nose. Worth every penny and much more, true bargain reminds me of Gendronich 18. Try it, honestly you can thank me later.
No complaints here, this is a great whisky, a sherry bomb but much more too. Expecting this to become a future classic.
That whisky packs a serious taste punch. Very sherried, it delivers a very pleasant, long lasting mouthful. Pretty sweet and takes a few ice cubes without losing intensity. Puts a large number of Whiskies in similar price range to shame.
Definitely heavy on the caramel and full of flavour. A lovely drop for the price.
I want to pour this on cake and eat it with custard it's so good. In fact it's too good for that, so I'll just stick to a glass but damn!
