Description
From indie bottler Forgotten Gems, a magnificent single grain Scotch whisky from the North British distillery. Matured in a butt, for an impressive 34 years, the Forgotten Gems gang portioned out this small batch of whisky into precisely 27 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Robust with vibrant grain, bold oak, and warming spice before notes of toffee, financier cakes, orange peel, and fresh almonds join.
Palate
Bold and spicy to begin, with tannic oak and nutmeg opening the way for creamier notes of crème caramel, butterscotch, and vanilla.
Finish
That bold ABV brings some heat, with flaked chilli, a touch of leather, and sweeter notes of syrupy sponge, flapjack, and apricot.
