Croftengea 14 Year Old 2007 (cask 197) - Smoke & Glory (Heroes & Heretics)
A rather handsome Heroes & Heretics independent bottling of peaty single malt from the Loch Lomond Distillery, released under the Croftengea name. It was distilled back in 2007, and aged in a single hogshead for 14 years, before eventually being bottled in 2021. An approachably peaty expression, this one, perfect for those of you who are curious about the deliciousness of smoky single malt, but not looking for an big blast of peat.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Softly earthy, with a touch of leafy kitchen herbs along the way. Toasted sugar, pear drops, and currant buns.
Palate
Hazelnuts, white chocolate, a few hints of tobacco and singed barley.
Finish
Candied peels, anise, cinnamon.
