Croftengea 11 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)

This is the first bottling of Croftengea single malt from That Boutique-y Whisky Company. Croftengea is peated whisky from the Loch Lomond distillery, known for being able to produce a variety of whisky style under one roof. Likely due to wizardry... Or, y'know, a very adaptable set of stills... Or wizardry.

Batch 1 is a release of 641 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Grassy peat, bonfire ash and oily malt lead, with white pepper, dry earth and green apples in support.

    Palate

Toasted almond smokiness, cedar bitterness and aromatic tea notes blend with buttery malt, sticky caramel and a handful of dried fruit. Earthy peat notes form the core.

    Finish

Alligator oak char and pine needles linger.

    Overall

A must-try those who adore complex, smoky and distinctive whisky.
