Winner of 3 awardsKilchoman
Kilchoman's Machir Bay is an excellent single malt Scotch whisky from the isle of Islay. The distillers use whisky which has been matured in ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso Sherry butts, resulting in a well-balanced flavour profile, with highlights of vanilla biscuits, light fruit and wafts of warm peat smoke. A top expression from Islay's farm distillery.

L really like this whiskey a smoother version of lagavulin 16 a good smokey peaty taste at the end of the glass at the price a good dram cheers
Good quality whisky. But not as smokey as I hoped.
A wealth of flavours. really enjoyed the balance between the peatyness, the citrus flavours and the hints of coffee. Not too heavy going down. Overlook the initial medicinal nose which is scaring a lot of people off. This is a complex and delicious young whisky and, as a few other users have said, would make for a magnificent Old Fashioned.
Too young and smoked with out complexity I found this very disappointing sticking to the lagavulin or caolila.
Yes its Islay but not fair to compare to others that are more established. For the money..it carries itself well..citrus and slight smoke on the nose..warm apple and pepper on finish...very morish..not an ardbeg or a lagavulin...laph...but not the price either..so good effort. Kilchoman well worth keeping an eye on..?
