Kentucky Vintage

Kentucky Vintage Bottling Note

Here we have Kentucky Vintage, a delicious small-batch bourbon from Kentucky Bourbon Distillers. It’s distilled, aged and bottled in Kentucky (no surprise there) and handsomely sealed with wax, though there’s no age statement. It's a classically styled, buttery bourbon with a lovely gentle hint of smoke. You’d be mistaken not to at least try it in an Old Fashioned.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Hints of candied peel and creamy caramel. A little herbal note, with sultanas, butterscotch and just a faint whisper of smoke.

Palate Bonfire toffee and rich spice on the palate. Cooked fruit and linseed oil. Buttery cereal grains.

Finish Thick, creamy finish with zinging spices.

Lovely
I really love this bourbon. It is nice on it's own or in cocktails or ginger ale.

Don’t judge by it’s low price
Always trying random bourbons from the local hole in the wall liquor store. This one was covered in dust and the cap took Vice Grips to open, which just added to it’s mystique. I was already optimistic for a $28 bottle, however it exceeded my expectations. Sweet, but not syrupy, bright but not uncomfortable. New favorite go to.

A nice surprise
A mellow bourbon with a sweet, corn nose, and an unusually bright and sweet banana/vanilla flavour distinct from many spicier, more oak-driven flavour of many bourbons. Not especially strongly flavoured, which allows sour flavours to come through without overpowering.

Nice Bourbon - Shame About the Cap!!
Been getting into bourbons for a while now and tried this recently - not as spicy imo as, say, WT 101 and definitely more caramel than others I've tried too e.g. WR. I agree about the bonfire toffee and buttery notes above but only get a mild spice kick here with some smoky notes on the finish, which is med to long. Nicely balanced but with quite a thin mouth feel, definitely gets better the longer it sits. Fine neat or with a few small drops of water.

The screw-cap was all stuck down on opening and I had to prize it free with a knife which was a tad irritating - but hey I 'aint drinking that . . .

Confusion
So is this the same product as the other version, except in a 75cl bottle? If so, why is this one cheaper? x

I assume this is the same as the 70cl bottle
If it is, then buy. And yes, amazing as an old fashioned. Andy Mc
