    Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey

Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey has been made at its Lynchburg distillery since 1875. The branding and original label, sometimes referred to as No. 7 or Black Label; has made its way into pop culture, with merchandise sold the world over and a history of association with music. Frank Sinatra was even buried with a bottle. The Tennessee whiskey makers use a mash bill made up of 80% corn, 12% rye, and 8% malt to create Jack Daniels whiskey, which is then filtered through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal to produce a mellow, slightly smoky character. A method known as the Lincoln County Process, it means this is not a bourbon, but instead meets the legal definition of a Tennessee whiskey. Jasper Newton "Jack" Daniel ( c. January 1849 – October 9, 1911) was an American distiller and businessman, best known as the founder of the Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey distillery.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Light with plenty of sweetness. There are hints of dry spice and oily nuts, a touch of smoke.

    Palate

Quite smooth and soft with notes of banana milkshake, a mixed nut note, a touch of caramel with crème anglaise.

    Finish

Sweet with a little cereal sweetness and toasty oak.

    Never again. Too much burn.

Drank it when I was young. As my tastebuds developed, I found a fairly larger and much better whiskers. I have a passion for Rye whiskey. Not expensive, Old Overholt Rye is great!

    Horrible at best.

Reading several other reviewers from all over the internet (including government ones), the taste of this drink can vary greatly which shows some serious handling & production concerns. The bottle of it that I got tastes like burned charcoal and water diluted cognac. Avoid.

If your a beginner don't use this as your base opinion on whisky

Taste is different for me sometimes. I read one review about nail polish and got that and it was strange. But also sometimes I get a lot of bananas which I like but not really what im looking for. Other times I taste caramel and charcoal. Its a love or hate it whisky and it changes for me. The middle is the best part, start and finish is boring. Isn't complex. Its unique in a way that its not like most bourbons or ryes but in this case its not a + thing. I like it most times but theres a lot more others that I would choose over this when im at the store buying a cheap bottle

    Very good

    Classic drink! I like it

    Good !

To me , and maybe only me , it has a peanut butter taste to it , but only after drinking some Makers or Four Roses . JD is not bad at all , but for a few dollars more you can get a lot better . Jim Beam tastes like glue , why do people like it ?
