The Glenrothes Sherry Cask Reserve was introduced to the Speyside distillery's core range in 2014, and it's definitely one for the Sherry lovers out there, as this is the first single malt from Glenrothes to be completely matured in first-fill Sherry casks. Yum.
Plump raisins, candied ginger and crumbly shortbread dusted with sugar. Crushed walnuts and oak appear further on.
Flamed orange zest and cinnamon, with more ginger and spice from the cask up front. This swiftly turns to juicy sultanas and raisins, with perhaps a tiny wisp of earthy smoke.
Brown sugar, citrus peel and nutmeg last on the finish.
Almost as good as Bowmore 15yr Sherry cask in flavor, a less than McCllelland in sea spray flavor. However, at it's current price point in my district, my preferred purchase.
This is a real treat if you’re a sherry guy. Simply beautiful on the nose. A classic speyside treat!
Currently my favourite single malt Scotch, the balance of flavor and heat is delightful. I find this Scotch interesting for every sip, yet still pleasant and affordable enough not to have to feel guilty for that second (or third) serving.

Great aroma, strong sherry taste and a long finish that warmed the palate. Very smooth with very little flashback. My wife tried it and thought that it was outstanding. This is one that I have already purchased and would strongly recommend due to the spectacular taste and a fantastic value!
