Dalmore Valour 1l Bottling Note

A travel retail release of Dalmore single malt Scotch whisky, which is matured in a mix of two types of first fill ex-bourbon casks and Oloroso Sherry butts, then finished in port pipes from the Douro region in Portugal.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Crumbly shortbread drizzled with toffee and dotted with plump raisins. Deeper notes of candied orange peels.

Palate: Chocolatey and rich, with treacle and malt loaf. Despite all this decadence, it still shows off some lightly qualities with golden barley and a touch of nutmeg.

Finish: Long and warm - plenty of orange aromas and cinnamon.

Dalmore Valour 1l Reviews

Very nice indeed. Expertly blended lovely balance.

Legs are slow to run, viscous, oily. Nose is toffee, candy, plums cranberries, berries, cherries, blueberries and blackberries. Dried fruits, currants, figs, raisins. First fill ex bourbon cask is most prominent of the casks with the toffee, vanilla, candy, chocolate.
Palate is almost identical to the nose, treacle.
Finish is long and a note of tannins offering astringency, Puckery.
Brilliant blending but what more would we expect from Richard Paterson.

A Young Scotch

Lots of nose, lovely soft treacle and Carmel all in the mouth... not much on the finish

Bourbon&Sherry-fans would LOVE this nectar!

To join the prev comment, I'm also preferring sweet over smoke. This whisky is a treasure for the tired traveler! Fruits, orange, raisins - smooth, warm, deep!

This is SMOOOOTH!!

I prefer smoother Scotch Whisky & definitely stay away from the peat & smoke bombs so many Americans claim to like. I also like it neat - no ice or water. The Dalmore Valour that I picked up at Heathrow easily fits my taste. It is amazingly smooth! This bottle will not be shared - don't let my friends taste it, they won't want more of it!

Christmas Pudding

Has a wonderful fruit cake nose. Very smooth and fruity palate. Finish does not last very long though. All in all, a very enjoyable scotch. Highly recommended!

Traveler

Picked this up at Heathrow. Marvelous, this whiskey is outstanding. Love the sherry and port finish. Nice deep amber colour. If you find yourself at an airport, leave with this. You won't be disappointed.

This bottle is incredible piece of heaven. Got it for 35 Euros at Duty Free what makes it even better. I just really enjoyed it, even though i prefer smoky whiskies.

Nose - The sherry butt finish gives this a pleasing ripe fruit -raisin through to plumb notes.
Palate - Rich smooth treacle with orange overtones
Finish - Tingly and warm staying at the front of the tongue with orange overtones.
Try it with Vietnamese duck braised in spiced orange juice. or just on its own you will still enjoy it.

I like this whisky

I just love the sherried whiskies, and this is certainly one of those. I would say it's on par with an Aberlour 10, which is pretty great whisky, but cheaper. That's not to dismiss this whisky at all, pour me a glass of this, and I will drink it, and then ask for another.

Managed to get a litre of this for 40 euro at the airport. A fair price, would buy again.

beautiful whisky. I like the 15yr, love this but the King Alexander III is just heaven in a glass.

My Sweetness!

What a surprise! This is Scottish "cassata". Every dram is like a walk on an oriental fruit market. Very enjoyable for everyone that likes it sweet.
