Craigellachie 18 Year Old 2007 (cask 1828) - Infrequent Flyers (Alistair Walker)
This 18-year-old Craigellachie was distilled in 2007 and finished for six years in a single Premier Cru Bordeaux wine barrique. That is no brief cask flourish, with the red wine wood bringing dark fruit, tangy citrus, honey, and spice to Craigellachie’s naturally robust, savoury spirit. Alistair Walker bottled cask 1828 at a cask strength of 58.6% ABV for the Infrequent Flyers collection, with an outturn of 266 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Red grapes, rum and raisin ice cream, balsamic glaze, dark berries, and Craigellachie’s characteristically savoury malt.
Palate
Red plum, cranberry, blood orange, golden syrup, raisin, nutmeg, and weighty malt.
Finish
Dark fruit, wine tannins, nutmeg, and lingering savoury notes.
