Craigellachie 10 Year Old - Batch 6 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)

Here we have the sixth batch of Craigellachie single malt Scotch whisky, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. This 10 year old whisky does not disappoint, and neither does the label. The Speyside-based distillery is one of the last few remaining to still use use a worm tub to cool down vapour from the stills - though happily not as literally as the label might suggest.

Batch 6 is a release of 1,370 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Barbecued pineapple, fresh barley and a hint of nutty brown bread with salted butter lead among thick dates, toasted almond a bit of flint-y minerality.

Palate

Brown sugar, spiced apple pie and earthy coffee bean, with runny honey and orange boiled sweeties. Notes of clove and cinnamon develop later on.

Finish

Cedar and a little hickory linger.

Overall

Fresh, vibrant and complex.
