Master of Malt
Scotland
Single Malt
14 year old peated single malt Scotch whisky from Islay's Bruichladdich distillery, bottled under the Port Charlotte name. This was distilled in 2002, matured in a single bourbon barrel and bottled in 2016 without any chill-filtration or additional colours. Another excellent addition to our very own Single Cask Series!
Banana fritters, salted butter and ham at first. Soon enough, peaty smoke, fresh orange and petrichor develops...
Cake-y vanilla, dried earth and a subtle touch of ash. Becomes slightly tropical with a drop of water unlocking melon and rum-like spice.
Smoky bacon crisps, thyme honey and a few notes of hay.
This takes me back, back to Bruichladdich. This feels much more mature (with some of the secondary fruit notes beginning to poke through) than anything I ever tasted there, though.
