Superbly smoky single malt here from Bruichladdich, released under the Octomore named and bottled up for the Stories of Wind & Wave series by The Character of Islay Whisky Company. Distilled in 2011, it was eventually bottled up at 9 years of age, presented at 50% ABV. Wonderful stuff from a range dedicated to showing off the brilliant of Islay whiskies.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Coastal air and seaweed, plus hints of milky coffee and vanilla pod.
Palate
Fresh fruit - green apples, white grapes and more - shortly followed by another helping of smoky peat.
Finish
Nutty on the finish, but once again still peaty.
