Royal Brackla 2011 (bottled 2018) (cask 900077) - Solaria Series (Whisky Illuminati) 70cl

A 2011 vintage single malt from Royal Brackla, bottled by the Whisky Illuminati. Not the same Illuminati that secretly controls the moon or something - it's an indie whisky bottler with a flair of stylish bottles and great expressions. This one was aged in a single first-fill sherry butt from 2011 to 2018, then bottled at a robust 68% ABV with an outturn of 150 bottles. A drop of water or two probably wouldn't go amiss with this one.

These whiskies come from a single cask, but not all the whisky has been bottled. The rest of the whisky has returned to slumber in its sherry butt, to be bottled after two more years of rest. But again, that will only be a portion of the whisky, as the remaining liquid will once again enjoy further rest until finally being bottled.
