Blair Athol 12 Year Old - Flora and Fauna Reviews

Exceptional

Buttery smooth and just the right amount of dark sweetness, has a bit of a leathery vibe and is rich and deep, amazing after taste and warming burn ..I'm already planning another bottle, seems expensive but worth every penny

Not Bad

For me a fairly average malt, pleasant but with no 'wow factor'.

Nose; soft sherry, toffee, vanilla fudge.
Palate; sweet but with a new wood bitterness, homogeneous fruit.
Finish; mild tannin, lingering sweetness, lemon ice tea.

A good introduction whisky, but one which is too one dimensional to revisit often.

Lovely

Very sweet (but in a good way). Like drinking an apple crumble

Well Balanced Dram

It's a lovely dram with some dried apricot and citrus peel note. Please note it is definitely NOT peated.

Surprisingly excellent.

I can’t believe this whisky is a Diageo brand and 97% of it goes into Bells whisky. It’s a fantastic tasting sherried whisky.

A great Sherry cask whisky

One of the great sherry cask whiskies. All bottles from first fill Sherry casks that spend their entire life just maturing in Sherry casks.

Like the good old MacAllan 10 and 12 year olds from yesteryear. An amazing whisky from the other great distillery in Pitlochry. Very surprised it isn’t more well known.

mediocre

Not a bad whisky but overpriced in my opinion .when you consider glenallachie 12 , deanston 12 and Glen Garioch 12 are all far superior and all cheaper , this 1 at £48 is not an attractive option I'm afraid .

£35 would be a fair price point for this bottle , there's no way it's an almost 50 qid bottle .

Not 1 I'll buy again .

exceptional after taste

This was a very pleasant surprise. It is a nice whisky going in but the after taste just grows and grows making it an exceptional whisky.

All round great whisky with deep mellow flavour.

Finest whisky I've ever tasted in 55 years of trying all kinds! Must only be drunk with highland spring water.
