Here we have an un-peated Benriach expression, distilled over in Speyside in 2007. It spent over a decade ageing in a single Oloroso sherry butt, until it was bottled for La Maison du Whisky in 2019. Just 499 bottles of the 12 year old single malt were released at a generous 61.5% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Barley sugar, floral honey and stewed pear, with cinnamon and nutmeg shavings.
Palate
Cocoa macaroons and fresh hay, alongside floral oak and dried berries.
Finish
White flowers and earthy malt, supported by mint chocolate.
