Behold, a 23 year old single malt from Allt-á-Bhainne, bottled up as part of the Darkness selection. This whisky was treated to a finishing period in an Oloroso sherry octave cask, which has imparted a wealth of dark fruit and chocolate notes - as well as that wonderful deep bronze hue...
Blackcurrant jam, toasted oak and sticky brown sugar cooking in a pan.
Oaky once again, with chocolate orange and raspberry sweetness balancing the richness.
A hint of soft peach sticks around on the finish.
