Planteray XO Barbados

A superb-looking decanter bottle of XO rum from Barbados, aged in bourbon barrels before being shipped to France for a secondary maturation in Cognac casks from the Ferrand house. The result is a well balanced rum with a remarkably long finish, with a palate of chocolate, banana, coconut and mango. Now this is some very good stuff.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Hints of spicy oak on the nose, with guava, a little desiccated coconut and dried banana. Buttery.

Palate Spiced, creamy palate entry, with sweet vanilla notes and caramel. Oaky spices.

Finish Caramel. Toasted oak.

Overpriced disappointment.
There are much better rums available for the money. It's too sugary, the alcohol is poorly integrated and it has a disappointing finish.

The best rum I’ve ever had
I’ve been drinking rum for 10 years. This is the best rum I’ve ever tasted.
I’ve had a few Plantation rums and all good but this is exceptional. It’s smooth and creamy with hints chocolate and vanilla. Very moreish. Worth the price.

Yummy rummy
The best rum I and everyone I know has tasted. I don't understand the negative reveiws. They all seem to be pointing to another particular brand so may be trying to poach the target audience. This rum is incredibly smooth and is oaky and subtly sweet. I have expensive taste and waste alot of it mixing it with a splash of coke and a ton of ice.. Happy summer x

Excellent Drink!
Over the years I have tried many types of Rum from many different countries growing Sugarcane, but this one is special and I love drinking it/ The colour and flavour is second to none!
It is a very special treat for me and my family this Christmas and beyond!

My Favourite Rum
This stuff is really special. Unlike any other rum I've tried. A totally unique flavour profile. Like caramelised bananas and magic.
At first I was reluctant to put it in a cocktail because it's so special, but it makes the most amazing Daiquiri.

Yet another Bajan stunner
Very palatable rum, slight sweetness and very smooth, easy to drink straight. Imagine it would work well in rum based cocktail but that might be a waste!
