This Scottish gin is celebrating all things about its home country, from its name (the Gaelic name for Scotland is ‘Alba’) to its local botanicals! Heart of Alba boasts 11 botanicals, including winter heather, bog myrtle and orris root from Scotland. In distillation, only the middle cut of the spirit, also known as the hearts, is bottled. A strong core of juniper leads into bittersweet citrus and waves of floral heather, rounded off by an earthy, sweet finish.
My goodness, you can really get a whiff of those floral botanicals with this gin, and they're not overwhelmed by the juniper. A lovely smooth gin, but with enough body to be tasted along with a tonic.
