Spirit of the Downs in Sussex uses pressed grapes from local small-batch sparkling wine producers to make a characterful range of brandies and grape spirits. Here, we have a 2021 vintage brandy made using Chardonnay grapes from the Sugrue South Downs vineyard, and matured in French oak.
Buttery notes of toasted brioche join soft stone fruits, oaken vanilla, raisins, and hints of marzipan, with delicately warming spices beneath.
