Château de Lacquy is one of the oldest family properties to produce Armagnac. This 100% Baco grape-based expression from Chateau de Lacquy was distilled in 1999 and was matured in French oak to produce a full and complex Armagnac.
Heady molasses richness, warming cinnamon spices and cocoa.
The alcohol id a bit strong but I’m in the mood for that, drowning virusy fears. I’m enjoying the cinnamony taste. The aftertaste is even better, rather warm and comforting on a winter night.
Highly disappointing. This is an over alcoholic burner of a brandy which doesn't deserve the soubriquet of Armagnac. Reminds me of the fictional 'Old Rhino' brandy that featured in Tom Sharpe's excellent satirical romps set in Apartheid era South Africa. I'm afraid the rest of the bottle is going on the Christmas Pudding. A sad fate for a bottle costing £129.95 from Master of Malt.
