Master of Cocktails Penultimate Paragraph

Right then all – we all ready for a cocktail? Time for #MasterofCocktails

Today’s drink is a creation based around this bad boy. It’s Bathtub Gin aged in an ex-Ardbeg cask. This batch is all sold out (I did tell you all to buy it…), but there’s a new batch available from the second-fill. Why, here it is.

So – this week’s #MasterofCocktails is going to be a variation on the Last Word cocktail. One of my all time favourites.

You’ll be needing these…

List of Ingredients

Without further ado, let’s start building. 20ml of this weird and wonderful gin.

Followed by 20ml Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur.

We’re going to swap the Chartreuse for Liquore Strega here. It’s lighter, and works wonders with the peat.

Finally, 20ml Fresh lime juice.

Ice, Shake, Double-Strain.

Now garnish with one of these bad boys. A Bourbon Cocktail Cherry. Seems fitting…

Pop him in there…

And serve. Not quite a ‘last word’, so let’s call this a ‘Penultimate Paragraph’.

Enjoy!

The flavour and aroma here are ridiculous. You get the peat, but it’s integrated and restrained.

#6secondcocktails

Thinking of joining in with #MasterofCocktails this Sunday? Nice one. Here’s what you’ll need.

Next week, you’ll be needing these…
Sugar, a Lemon, Lemongrass Stalk, Yuzu Juice, Akashi-Tai Shiraume Umeshu, Hine Rare VSOP Cognac, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao and Salt.

We’ve got a little bit of prep to do for next week’s #MasterofCocktails – might as well get it underway now. We’re going to infuse our Cognac with fresh lemongrass. You want 40ml Hine VSOP, and 1/4 Fresh Lemongrass stalk.

Get as much air out as you can, pop in a freezer bag, and leave alone in the fridge for a week.

We’ll come back to that in a week. Toodle-pip, all.
