This bank holiday/Star Wars day weekend saw the Charity Bee Run take place! Wheels that were put in motion back on Glenfarclas 105 Day with our Facebook competition saw a bee’s tired limbs still in motion at the end of a 21 mile scurry for charity seventeen days later.
Raising over £1,000 for Ripple Africa’s Malawian secondary school scholarships; Andrew Wheelhouse, we salute you! Ably supported by his brother Chris, ‘The B Team’ got lost a couple of times, travelled through Pratt’s Bottom, were nearly cornered by a herd of dairy cows and were forced to stop briefly when star struck by the dog from the Cesar adverts, but ultimately they prevailed! We were delighted to receive them at MoM Towers and to present them with their prize: a hard earned and colossal 3 litre bottle of Glenfarclas 105 single malt whisky! We also took these champs for a slap up dinner to recharge their batteries before they buzzed off home again.
I don’t think there can be(e) any doubt that Andrew was indeed the most deserving winner of our competition. The money he has raised already will allow nine Malawian children to attend secondary school for an entire year, and if you’d like to help him ensure access to eduction for even more, you can donate to this fantastic cause on Andrew’s Givey Page.
The bee stoops for the line!
London to Tunbridge Wells: Done.
Congratulations!
