Right then cocktail fans. Trust we all had a cracking Christmas? Ready for a drink? Course you are…
For this week’s #MasterofCocktails (the last of 2014, I might add), we’re making what’s become something of a modern classic courtesy of Salvatore Calabrese (@CocktailMaestro). We are, of course, making a Breakfast Martini recipe.
Buttered toast at the ready…
You’ll be needing these…
List of Ingredients
- 15ml of Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao
- 50ml of Bathtub Gin
- 10ml of Fresh Lemon Juice
- 10ml of Marmalade
- An Orange Twist (garnish)
- A Slice of Buttered Toast (garnish)
We’re going to start with 50ml of Bathtub Gin:
And whilst you’ve got the gin in the measuring jug – drop in 10ml of Marmalade. Needs to be really good Marmalade…
Voila. Much easier to measure that way:
Dump that into a shaker, measure out 10ml of Fresh Lemon Juice and add that too.
Finally, 15ml of Curacao or Triple Sec. I’m using Pierre Ferrand.
Now – stir for a good 30 seconds or so before you go anywhere *near* any ice. You need to dissolve the marmalade… Maybe even a minute…
When you’re comfortable that it’s as dissolved as it can be, bung in a handful of ice…
And shake until the shaker frosts up.
Double-strain into a cocktail glass…
Now garnish with an orange twist, and a slice of buttered toast. Naturally. Serve.
Enjoy!
Join us next week for the first #MasterofCocktails of 2015, where we’ll be making use of these ingredients…
Next week, you’ll be needing these…
Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon, St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur, a Lemon and Angostura Bitters.
