American Eagle 4yo Bottling Note

This tasty Bourbon is the work of American Eagle, distilled from a mash bill of 84% corn, so you can be sure there's buttery notes galore in here. The whiskey has been matured in American oak barrels for four years, and was treated to charcoal-mellow filtration before it was bottled at 40% ABV. Superb sipped neat, but also makes some great cocktails. Bourbon Sour, anyone?

American Eagle 4 Year Old Reviews

Just average

This lovely looking bottle caught my eye in the supermarket. I haven’t tried it before so for £18 I thought I’d give it a chance. Have to say the best thing about this drink is the bottle. For a neat drinking bourbon it’s just average. I’ll probably just drink the rest of it with coke and ice.

Good for the price

I really liked it for the price not sure if I would buy it again for full price.

You get what you pay for.

You get what you pay for. At less than £20 from the supermarket, I was happy to stick sugar syrup and lemon juice for a simple, tasty whiskey sour. On its own, it’s not quite as rough as a badger’s, but pretty close. If you spend less than you would for a JW Red, you’re not going to get an Octomore. If you’re looking for ‘sippin’ whiskey’, open the wallet a bit more.

The tasting notes talk about vanilla. That is there, but so is raw alcohol.

Must try!

Mellow, smooth and full of flavour. It leaves a nice after taste. Well worth the money and comes in a cool bottle too!

Very pleasant. A change from the “usual brands”

Just smooth and mellow. A delicious long after taste. Not sure what other low star reviews are trying to say.. ?

Not drinkable stay clear

What a waste of time putting this bad smelling foul tasting liquid in a bottle..... STAY WELL CLEAR and spend your money on recognised brand...

Spend more

I can't believe what I'm reading (reviews), this is the worst bourbon I have ever tasted. I can't believe it's even 40% proof, it is very weak on any flavour and doesn't even try to save its self with any kind of alcohol kick. I got this for £15 and I wish I'd spent more and gotten a buffalo trace or jim beam devil's cut.

It's very young needs a bit more time to mature. worth a punt for something different. Not undrinkable.

Hat's off to American Eagle!

Amazed with the smoothness on this 4 Year Old from American Eagle. Works wonders on it's own with a couple of ice cubes. Also tried it in a Boulevardier (well maybe a few of them) and was surprised at how tasty it was. Great brand, and hoping we hear more from them! 5*****
