
The Virginia Distillery Co. used 100% North American barley and a two-strain proprietary yeast mixture (one for yield, one for flavour), fermented for a generous 72 hours to make this American single malt whisky. The whisky spent its first years of maturation in a host of first-fill bourbon barrels, before transferring for a finish in a selection of tawny Port casks, along with Port-style fortified wine casks from Virginia.
Scents of honeycomb, walnuts, and gingerbread are met with a burst of bright lemon, red berries, soft smoke, and cocoa on the palate.
