Ocho Los Patos Añejo 2016 Bottling Note

Another awesome vintage single estate Tequila from Ocho! This one was distilled in 2016, produced from agave grown at Los Patos, named as such because it's based near a pond where ducks (aka, Los Patos) migrate! The agave plants were harvested at seven years old before they were distilled and rested in oak. A wonderfully buttery expression.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Buttered corn and runny honey, with barrel spice and earthy green agave, balanced by a hint of salty minerality.

Ocho Single Estate - Los Patos Añejo - 2016 Harvest Reviews

You'll never look back!

The problem here is that once you try this it simply demotes every other anejo on your Tequila Shelf of Glory (or is that just me?!) I can believe that single estate agave will be a positive benefit over buying in from various growers but when Ocho tell you that these particular agaves come from next to the duck pond (los patos), well...??....so???
Oh boy- take me back to the ducks!!
This is rich and buttery but tremendously balanced, lots of agave flavor and a full satisfying lingering finish. Blimey...quite amazing...and only EVER to be sipped!
