Domaine Loujan 2000 Bottling Note

Vintage Bas Armagnac from Domaine Loujan from the year 2000 - the first year the current owners took control of the Domaine. It's also their first expression made exclusively with eaux-de-vie produced entirely at Domaine Loujan (their older expressions are made using eaux-de-vie from surrounding producers).

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Ginger, flame orange peel, waxy fruit, prunes, slight hints of smoky oak and woody spices.

Domaine Loujan 2000 Bas Armagnac Reviews

A complex and contemplative drink

The nose has caramel and citrus in abundance. The palate starts buttery and then shifts to date and fig. The finish is all about warm oak with a dusting of nutmeg and cardamom.

Orange peel, caramel, vanilla, alcohol, lacking much sweetness

I definitely get the orange peel on the bouquet. The flavors are light caramel, vanilla, and plenty of heat. Leaves the lips tingly after a sip. To me, it seems to be missing a sweetness that belongs about 2/3 of the way through the taste. Where there should be sweet, it's flat. But still something I'd be most happy to drink, or serve.

A delectable delicious Armagmac!

Rich caramel and ginger on the nose. Flavors of orange and candied fig on the palate. Hints of spice on the finish.
Delicious!
