This was named after the legendary Admiral John Benbow who served in the Royal Navy from 1678 to 1702. It's a rich navy-style rum and it works very well in cocktails or with mixers.
Nose: Winter spice, Demerara sugar and toffee apples. Black pepper.
Palate: Peppercorns and vanilla, butterscotch, molasses and treacle.
Finish: Long, creamy finish.

weirdly I've seen this around a few clubs where I live as the default "£1 spirit & mixer" offer. It's not very nice and not really worth it since you can get stuff like Captain Morgan's in Tesco for a similar price. I'd definitely recommend Myers or Goslings over a lot of dark rums.

This rum tastes like cheap and nasty white rum flavoured with Demerara sugar. Very little effort has gone into producing this rum and with better examples available for less, I would be inclined to avoid this rum.
