Speyburn 8 Year Old 2004 - Provenance (Dougas Laing)
This was distilled at the Speyburn distillery in Autumn 2004, before an 8 year single cask maturation in a sherry butt. It was bottled for the Provenance range from Douglas Laing, oddly in “Winter 2013” – which, as of the time of writing, is in the future.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Ground almonds and buttery toffee. Thick malt, allspice and vanilla.
Palate
Fruity and toffee-rich. Vanilla fudge, black pepper and apple peel.
Finish
Long finish with notes of Scottish tablet and spice.
Overall
A beautifully malty whisky.
