Great bourbon. Really smooth for the proof. Take a small sip and you really taste the oak cinnamon flavor come through. I hope it continues to get mediocre reviews so it stays affordable for the ones who really enjoy it. I do wish Willett's would reintroduce the age statement. I'm guessing it somewhere around the 10 year mark.
I live in Louisville. This is the best $30 15 yr old bourbon you’ll ever be lucky enough to buy/taste.
really harsh and has a bad aftertaste to it. Not worth the cost, was really disappointed.
I don't understand the reviews I'm seeing. I just purchased a bottle (this review is written Dec 2017) and I find this rather harsh. It's quite dry, withe a rather strong alcohol smell, taste and burn. There's nothing smooth about it. And very little in the way of and "easy sipping" experience. As a reality check I pulled out an Evan Williams Bottled in Bond, which is about the same proof and 2/3 the price. It's far smoother. Flavors are not as bold, but the EW is balanced and I think the Johnny Drum is all over the place.
I tasted Johnny Drum for the first time , and I totally enjoyed the smoothness of it. I wish I could find it , because it's very hard to find.
