Nose: Heavy on the prunes and with more than a suggestion of Christmas cake; this is classic sherry cask Glenlivet. After the initial heat, this cask-strength whisky becomes lighter with forest floor aromas.
Palate: Supple dried fruits and baked brambley apples in a sweet but slightly spicy palate.
Finish: Sultanas and currants take the final bow for this dram.
Overall: Cask-strength single cask Glenlivet with lots of sherry influence. Maybe a little strong for some so consider adding water to open up the lighter notes.
