Glen Ord 16 Year Old 1997 (cask 9954) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
Douglas Laing's Old Particular range of single cask releases focuses on some very specific parameters for their whiskies, from the three different strengths they are bottled at to not using chill-filtration or colouring. This 16 year old Glen Ord has been bottled at 48.4% abv, a limited release of 396 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Intriguing with oily cheese, the powder around bonbon sweets, a hard to place minerality and peaches in a wooden bowl.
Palate
More peaches and possibly peach polish with cream developing. Citrus, lychee and some darker fruit emerging.
Finish
Perfumed with a hint of blackcurrant and smoke - in fact there's slight smoky vein throughout, especially with a little water.
