Insider knowledge: Edradour 11 Year Old 2000 Burgundy - Straight from the Cask 57.1% whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be Edradour 11 Year Old 2000 Burgundy - Straight from the Cask 57.1% whiskey, as opposed to whisky.
Nose: Menthol, herbal notes, sweet spices, Port wine and honey.
Palate: Unusual and quite herbal with aromatic notes of Aussie shiraz (peppery with dark fruits), jammy and malt-laden.
Finish: Good length, hints of cinnamon and apple.
i recently had the sheer joy of being gifted a bottle of Edradour "Straight from the Cask".
this whisky has a very pleasant and gentle nose,a delightful teaser of what is to come!
the flavour is quite unique,a delightfully balanced peaty-ness yet room for the more delicate flavours of pepper, sherry and gentle fruits.
the finish is clean and enduring..
